New Ngariama Farmers Co-operative Society was formed back in year 1997 after the split & subsequent liquidation of Ngariama Farmers Co-operative Society Limited. It was registered on 5th March 1997 under registration No. CS/8064. The society is headed by ten committee members, three being supervisory committee .
The society Headquaters are modern, and domiciled at Ngariama shopping centre in Kirinyaga East Sub County, Kirinyaga County. The total Membership as per October 2024 was 8645, with active members being 6933. The society has three coffee wet mills. These are Kainamoi, Kamwangi and Kiamugumo wet mills. The three are located in Nyangeni and Kiamugumo sub-locations in Kirinyaga East Sub-County. The coffee is processed using fresh water from Kii, Karimikui and Igendambura rivers. Afterwards, the parchment is sun dried on raised beds.
New Ngariama F.C.S. is well known for production of high quality coffee and for its efficiency in management. The society has been awarded severally for this and other recognitions such as achieving the highest average payment rates, as well as the highest percentage of premium grades. The society has also been recognized by coffee research institute for attaining the highest points in the Kenya national taste of harvest competition.
